INSTRUCTOR: Lauren Tripp

Fire up a torch and get those hammer arms ready for a one day intensive that will get you started in the right direction in the world of fold forming copper. This metalsmithing technique folds metal in various ways and then utilizes hammering to stretch the folds, resulting in a wonderful organic shape. We will cover line folds, line scoring, bellybutton folds, create a star, and leaf during this course. Bring yourself, a lunch, and be ready to hammer!

*Safety first- wear closed toe shoes and have hair tied back

ABOUT LAUREN:

Lauren trip is a metalsmith from Hastings and currently teaches at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She teaches beginner all the way to advanced and is specialized in hammers and techniques from raising to fold forming.
